PORTLAND, Ore . (AP) - San Jose forward Chris Wondolowski has scored his 27th goal of the season, tying the MLS single-season record set by Roy Lassiter of Tampa Bay in 1996.

Wondolowski booted a penalty kick into the lower left corner of the net in the 24th minute to give the Earthquakes a 1-0 lead after Portland goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts was whistled for taking out Earthquakes forward Steven Lenhart in a race to secure the ball.

San Jose has already secured its second Supporters' Shield and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. It is the final regular-season match for both teams.
